A wooden bike made in Denver, Colorado. This Connor Cycles wood bike has Ash wood handlebars and frame. Sustainable American hardwoods are used throughout this bike in all its wooden parts. Locally made and individually sculpted in Denver, CO.

Is it art, is it a bike? Well, it’s both. It makes a fully functional rideable bicycle out of sculpted wood. Each part is hand fit and shaped giving it that unmistakable look that only hand craftsmanship delivers. Each one is totally unique and made to be enjoyed not just by looking at but by taking with you out into the world. You have to experience the ride to believe it.

I’m still revising the specific components to be used on the first production model, however here are some of the working photos. This shows the bike in it’s “Mountain Scorcher” configuration. Note the long fork and knobby tires. The true “Woody Scorcher” configuration will appear soon sporting a lower, sleeker fork and fast slick balloon tires.

What is a scorcher?

Fast, fun stripped down and simple. A scorcher was the term applied to the bicycle bound hooligans in Denver in the late part of the 19th century. A time when the bicycle was beginning to replace the horse and was ridden freely through streets of Denver.

Scorchers today are similar but the term is applied to the bicycle not the rider. They are a simple bicycle harkening back to earlier times. Clean lines, a basic drivetrain with swept back handlebars and high volume tires capable of smoothing out the ride of rough city streets or country trails. They are about simplicity, speed, cruising comfort and style.
